Gorilla tracking in Virunga National Park- Congo is the most attractive activity in Congo which carried out every day all year round. Virunga National Park is the oldest park in Africa with over 8 gorilla families are located within the Park. The Virunga National Park is a tropical rainforest located in the southeast Congo bordering Uganda and Rwanda. Tracking gorillas in Virunga National Park is a very easy and adventurous lifetime changing experience after knowing what to pack for gorilla tracking in Virunga National Park. It’s very essential to pack the right gear for gorilla tracking before you left your origin of stay.

The hiking Boots – it’s very essential to pack a pair of hiking boots just because the nature of the Park which is on high altitude and the terrain is impassable during the wet season. The hiking boots should be long enough to cover your ankles and light to easier your adventure experience

Gloves – this is another essential item to pack before you left your origin of stay. The garden gloves help and prevent your hands from getting dirty or scratched by insects and vegetation. During gorilla tracking, you pass through different vegetation and terrain as grabbing trees, branches, vines and among others which needs to cover your hands for safety

A light rain jacket –this is because Virunga National Park is a tropical rainforest meaning that the weather of the Park is unpredictable since it also found in an equatorial climate where the equator passes through the country. Therefore we highly recommend our visitors to carry a light rain jacket in order to protect yourself from rain and also your gargets. Please pick a light rain jacket that you can roll up in your bag and bring out if where necessary.

Energy snacks – trekking mountain gorillas in Virunga National Park is a touch experience that takes over 5 hours while tracking gorillas in their natural home. This means that one requires energy giver snacks in order to provide energy during your tracking experience. Please don’t forget to carry up your rubbish with you as you go.

Water – carry up enough water at least 1.5litter or 2 which will helps transport nutrients to give you energy and keep you healthy. If you’re not hydrated, your body can’t perform this experience which can go in over 5 hours while tracking gorillas

Long pants, shirts or blouses – we highly advise you to carry along pants, shirts or blouses in order to avoid exposing your skin in the Park. This protects your skin from scratches, insect bites and getting dirty during your trek. Please remember to tuck your trousers to avoid insects entering.

Camera – Get a camera or at least a cell phone to snap amazing photos or videos of the gorillas during your trek in Virunga National Park as reembrace as you go back to your home. Photos and videos make life feel so special because it will never come again, please remember to switch off your flash while taking gorilla photographs.

Hat and sunglasses – this protects you from the direct sun and it covers your head from rainfall or anything hits your face or head

Insect repellent- Virunga National Park is home to dangerous insects such as mosquitoes and tsetse flies but this doesn’t scare you from tracking gorillas. From here, we advise you to apply insect repellent cream or spray.
