Situated on the western side of Uganda, Kibale Forest National Park extends for over 79500 hectares of mainly Tropical rainforest and is home to at least 13 species of primates including the largest population of our closest living relatives. Day 1: Transfer from Kampala to Kibale Forest National Park
After your breakfast at the Hotel/Guesthouse in Kampala or Entebbe, transfer to Kibale Forest National Park by road through Mityana, Mubende, Kyenjojo and Fort Portal Towns. You will have two stopovers during this journey and the first is in Mubende at the Nakayima tree while the second at Fort Portal Town for your mouth-watering lunch.
Before entering the Park, branch off at the Amabere Ga Nyina Mwiru stalactite and stalagmites to learn about its scientific and cultural formation but the latter will blow your mind. Also, proceed to the nearby Crater Lakes and head to the booked Lodge to freshen up, have dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Chimpanzee trekking and afternoon nature walk
On the day you are trekking the Chimpanzees, you are obviously anxious and excited. However, feel relaxed and start the day with breakfast and move or be driven to Kanyanchu for registration and briefing on what to do and not do during trekking. Start this riveting wildlife experience at 8:00 am and after 30 minutes to 3 hours, be introduced to the Chimpanzee family with whom you will spend one hour.

Chimpanzee Tracking
After the one hour spent with the Chimpanzee community, return to the Lodge for lunch and relaxation as you wait for the next activity. For birding enthusiasts, the afternoon will be dedicated to you where you will be undertaking a nature walk in Bigodi wetland Sanctuary. This site in addition to offering shelter to unique species such as the Papyrus gonolek and papyrus swamp warblers is also a home to some primate species. Later return to the Lodge for dinner and overnight.
