Mount Karisimbi is the highest peak in Virunga ranges which stands over 4,507 meters above the sea level making it the eleventh highest mountain in Africa. Karisimbi Mountain is a dormant volcano that sits on the border of Congo and Rwanda approximately 29 km Goma in Congo. The world “Karisimbi” is in the Kinyarwanda language that means “white shell”, that allude to the snow that was used to find at the peak of mount Karisimbi.

However, the dry season is the best time to climb since the walking trail is dry all the time thou this doesn’t mean it will not rain during this season.
