Gorilla Trekking Certificate
Primate lovers will concur that it is a very rewarding and uplifting experience to finally receive a certificate indicating your successful completion of gorilla trekking tours. A gorilla trekking certificate is a document issued to travellers after searching and meeting face to face with the Giant Apes in their natural habitats, and clearly stipulates the National Park from which the gorillas were trekked, date of trekking and exact gorilla family you have trekked.

Gorilla Trekking Certificate
This document certifies that the traveller has been to a specific Gorilla Park and even trekked one of the rarest and most sought-after primates on Earth. During the Certificate awarding process, trekkers are cheered by fellow visitors and Park Rangers with hand claps. This can be hanged on your walls alongside other photos and important certificates attained in the course of your education and career.
Gorilla trekking certificates not only authenticates and validates your attendance during the gorilla trekking tour but also appreciates your effort as well as contribution towards the protection of the endangered mountain gorillas in their fragile natural environments. Remember that part of the gorilla permit fees paid (to Uganda Wildlife Authority, Rwanda Development Board or Institute Congolese pour la Conservation de la Nature) is given back to the local community to improve their standard of living as well as appreciating their effort in conserving the Great Apes. Another percentage of the fee is fundamental in directly protecting Great Apes through paying Law enforcers, Gorilla Doctors and other people directly involved in the protection of these Giant Apes in their natural environments.
Trekking the endangered mountain gorillas takes between one and four hours and when they are finally encountered, travellers have one hour of interacting with them in their natural environments. Anyone who has undertaken this activity before will agree that it is physically demanding and requires patience, owing to the fact that it involves hiking densely forested and very steep/hills slopes for several hours. Anyone who successfully encounters them deserves an accolade, and the gorilla trekking certificate is handy.

Gorilla Trekking
Mountain gorillas are watched in only four places that include Bwindi Impenetrable National Park and Mgahinga Gorilla National Park in south-western Uganda, Virunga National Park in Eastern Democratic Republic of Congo and Volcanoes National Park in North-western Rwanda. These creatures are exceptional and worth visiting because they are actually our close relatives, with whom we share 98.2% DNA. Unlike how they have been portrayed in films, they are actually one of the most peaceful and gentlest creatures in the Wild. Surprisingly, it is safer to be in their presence than it is with lions or Hippos.
The best time to go gorilla trekking
Memorable gorilla trekking adventures typically run from December to February and from June to September when rains are rarely experienced thus forest trails are drier, not muddy or slippery. However, any month of the year is a perfect time to get up-close and personal with the Great Apes of East-Central African jungles. Nonetheless, travelers that make their gorilla trekking adventures in the wet months of March to May or October to early December experience muddy and slippery forest trails from the heavy downpours. Regardless of season of trekking the mountain gorillas, hiking boots, rain jacket, wide brim hat, gardening gloves, waterproof backpack, long safari pants, long-sleeved shirts, energy giving snacks and drinking water are recommended.
