Bwindi Impenetrable National Park Welcomes 2 Baby Gorillas
Bwindi Impenetrable National Park one of the world’s best mountain gorilla trekking safari parks has welcomed two baby gorillas. The 2 births were recorded the same week in Bwindi’s Mubare gorilla family in Buhoma gorilla tracking region and Oruzogo group in Ruhija sector.
The infant gorilla in Mubare gorilla group, Buhoma region in Northern Bwindi Impenetrable National Park was spotted in July 22nd 2020 in the safe hands of mother Nyampazi. The new birth makes Mubare family increases the group’s composition from 8 to 9 mountain gorillas under the leadership of Maraya silverback gorilla.

Gorilla Trekking
Mubare group features among the most visited habituated gorilla groups by tourists on Uganda gorilla safari in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Interestingly, it is first group to also open for gorilla tourism purposes in Buhoma area which today is comprised of 4 habituated gorilla families. The other 3 gorilla groups include Katwa, Habinyanja and Rushegura.
Baby gorilla boom in Oruzogo group, Ruhija region in the eastern part of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park was recorded in July 25th 2020 and amazingly, the new birth marks the first baby of Katoto female gorilla. The group is currently led by Kagaanga silverback gorilla. Presently, there are 15 mountain gorillas to be explored on gorilla trekking safari in Ruhija region of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.
Besides Oruzogo family group, Ruhija gorilla trekking region also comprises of other habituated mountain gorilla group families such as Bitukura gorilla group, Kyaguriro and Mukiza family. Each of these gorilla groups has a unique story to tell the world thus offering an exceptional experience to trekkers on Uganda gorilla safari in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.

When it comes to mountain gorilla adventures, Bwindi Impenetrable National Park never goes unmentioned. It is one of the 4 parks worldwide where you can only trek to see the endangered mountain gorillas in their natural habitat and the others are Volcanoes National Park in Rwanda, Mgahinga Gorilla National Park in southwestern Uganda and Virunga National Park in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC).

Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Forest National Park
In Uganda, Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is one of the 10 parks one can explore on Uganda safari holiday and it is shared by Kisoro, Kabale and Kanungu districts in the southwest. The park sits on 331sq.kms of land and its magical rain-forest hosts an estimate of 459 mountain gorillas nearly half of all the remaining 1063 mountain gorillas in the world. This top gorilla safari park was set up in 1991 to protect and conserve these rare apes and today, over 20 gorilla groups have been opened for gorilla trekking.
While on gorilla safari in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park treks normally start from Ruhija and Buhoma in the East and North respectively, Nkuringo and Rushaga areas in the southern side. Only 8 trekkers are always accepted to participate in mountain gorilla trekking per day and gorilla permits can be obtained at $ 700 in case you are a foreign non-resident, $ 600 foreign residents and Shs 250000 for East African community citizens.
