This is the most asked question by all the travelers planning a gorilla safari to Rwanda. The truth is that there is no single traveler that will guarantee travelers an opportunity to see the mountain gorillas but the chances of meeting and interacting with these endangered species are 99.9%. Since the starting of gorilla tourism, there is no record of any traveler who has ever failed to see the mountain gorillas. The pre trekking check by the park rangers; Just at the start of each trekking date, a group of the park rangers wake up so early in the morning and hike into the forest checking out the whereabouts of the mountain gorillas. Once they are found. They keep following them until time for communicating to the park headquarters comes. They will call the headquarters to inform them the where about of the different gorilla families and it’s from where the tourists with their gorilla guides will start the trek into the forest following instructions from the advanced team. This means that every tourist who comes to Rwanda has a chance of seeing mountain gorillas.

Allocation of gorilla families based on one’s capability: Chances of viewing mountain gorillas are improved by the fact that gorilla family allocation these days is done wisely. Those who are not strong are allocated easier families compared to the energetic ones. This means therefore that even those who could have failed because of physical fitness end up making it to the gorillas. With the help of the porters and sedan chairs, even the people with disabilities and the elderly have been able to achieve their dream of trekking the mountain gorillas. Early booking and preparations: For soft reservations and detailed gorilla trekking strategy, all the guests awaiting gorilla tours are required to book as early as three months before the trekking date. Early booking helps tour operators to secure gorilla permits in time avoiding any disappointments of failing to get a gorilla permit at a later date. Also during the reservation process, the travelers are reminded to do enough exercises in preparation for the hikes hence making them ready to move through the jungle with no difficulties. More so the travelers must pack essential items like hiking boots, hand gloves, sunglasses, long pants, jackets, long pants to deal with the unpredictable weather in the forest.
